Hey guys,
Do any of you know if the 2006 Dodge Dakota came with a steering wheel that had radio controls? I want to add this option. I am assuming if it did, I would need to do a full steering wheel replacement, unless I can just add these radio control buttons behind the steering wheel.
Mine only has cruise control buttons on the front of the steering wheel, nothing on the back.
Cheers

Hammond Egger added radio controls to his wheel, but he never got them to fully function if I recall. You can just buy the buttons and add them though. Youll need to get the computer reflashed as well. Hammond was trying to sync his wheel controls with a MyGig radio, so that might be what his problem was.

Well, the issue with mine was/is that I have an open canbus circuit somewhere...BUT
wileecoyote did the same exact thing as me and his works perfectly!
What color interior do you have? Any 2004 and up RAM/Durango/Dakota steering wheel will work (actually, you just need the back part with the switches/harness.
You will then need to run 2 wires from the clockspring to the gauge cluster...then have the truck flashed with the RBZ option...this part is a little tricky as it also adds the AMP when they flash it...they will need to delete the amp afterwards.
Maybe wileecoyote can do a complete write up....as I have yet been able to figure out where my issue is
