That would be the thing to do. Would save you a headache in the future if you decided to go with a bull bar, tow hooks or body lift. Good idea for everyone with a fairly new truck. Get them out now and prepare them for easy removal in the future.

It's actually a 400lb clamp (not 600).. model# for the clamp is DHBC-12 (<google it) & the red rubber feet come with it. They fall off easily (half on the shelf were missing at least one) so make sure you get one with both feet. You'll need some gloves that grip well too because the wooden handle on it slips in your hand pretty easily.

Lowes has it for $14.98

Now to the niteshading!!

Glad to see the bolt lost that battle. The bull bar looks good.

Thanks guys!!

Good news & bad news....

Good news: I did an awesome job niteshading my tail lights and another awesome job repainting my plastic bumper step thing in the rear (back to black)

Bad news: I FUBAR'd my tail lights clear coating them so I just ordered new ones. (smh)... Just got the wrong can of clear coat and didnt test it first to see how it looked. Couldve spent $65 plus $11 niteshade plus $5 clear on a new magnaflow muffler BUT lesson learned and I'll do an even better job the 2nd go around

Now to the niteshading!!

On top of that(If just the clamp doesn't work)

I took a plate of steel and a 7/16 self tapping screw (for garage doors) and screwed a rectangle shaped plate to the top the bushing.

They are hollow in between the nut and the outside so the screw goes right in.

Then clamp to the plate- it stops on the screw and the plate keeps the bushing from spinning.

Just another idea for all-yall!
