You nailed it. The any CAI for the 4.7 will fit the 3.7
Yup, the only reason why some companies don't state their intake will fit the 3.7l is because they haven't test fitted it on a truck with the v6, and they don't want to risk it not fitting if they list it as compatible.
How are the smog inspection rules in Canada?
The reason I ask is, here in California if you install a CAI or any aftermarket product for an engine you need a manufactures sticker that says it's approved for X engine type to be used in California.
I ran into this issue when I had my 01 Dak with the 3.9L engine. I had installed a K&N CAI on it right after I got the truck. When smog time came the smog inspectors said hey “where is your manufactures sticker for your CAI”? They told me they couldn’t smog it until I had a sticker. I talked with a buddy of mine that said just call K&N and they will send you the sticker. I called K&N and they tell me sorry we never made a CAI for that motor. So $65 latter I had an OEM CAI from Pick and Pull and was able to get the Dak smogged.
With 08 Dak I ended up creating my own CAI and set my OEM CAI in the Garage. So when I take it to the stealership I swap it out takes me all of 5 minutes.
Good Luck.
