I will probably go with new tire/wheels shortly. Could you sell the stock tires and wheels? Who would want them?

I sold my stock 16's with tires for $400. The guy had a 2nd Gen Dakota and wanted the tires only. He bought them and I've seen my old rims for sale on CL for $200. Somebody could want them, at least the rims, for their winter tires. Or to possible replace the steelies, I'm trying to sell another set of16" rims now.

You could keep just for backups or if you ever decide to sell your truck.

A member of my hunting club who I've known for about 15 years owns a tire store and the week I bought my truck new off the showroom floor I stopped by to inquire about REAL tires and wheels. He took a couple of pics and said he'd show it around and when someone wanted them, he'd order me the tires/wheels of my choice. We decided to stick $600 on them.
At three weeks old, with about 350 miles on them he had a guy with a 2nd Gen Ram offered $500 for the set, I countered with $550 and he accepted.

This guy had just bought out a 2nd tire/auto repair shop on the other side of town and wanted the two shops connected on the same network for inventory and accounting purposes. So we bartered a little network labor for tires and wheel. I think I had about 2 days in the project and ended up paying him $250 cash for a set of Mickey Thompson Classic II wheels and four Mickey Thompson MTX 33x12.5x17 tires. So other than having to hang out there and do a little work for a couple of days, I came out with the tires/wheels and $300 in my pocket.
Sold the tires when I did the lift and bought some 35" Cepeks off him (at his cost, no less), but I still have those wheels...

Look around for a respectable new and used tire shop. When I got my Coopers from a new and used shop the guy brought my almost new tires from me for cash saving me from having to post them on CL and dealing with that.

Worth looking into.

I would keep them, when you sell or trade the truck in, the new wheels won't add much to the value.
