Default New Accessory

It took a few tools:

That's what the Mopar instructions called for. I used about twice as many.

Installed:

The Mopar factory folding hard bed cover is the only one that will work with the factory bedrail system. I even called BakFlip and discussed it with them. This one locks the first and fourth of four panels, and secures the tailgate without having to get a locking tailgate latch. It's a nice cover, but a bit of a PITA to install. I had to disassemble the tailgate when the shank of the pop rivet slid out while installing the rivet. That added an hour.

Here's the bad part:

holy cow! is it worth that much? Looks pretty killer though. I never carry anything in my bed, except the occasional lawn mower or furniture, so my snap on works great for me.

I tow my drag Neon on a tow dolly. I need to lock up the tools, tires and spare fuel when racing and the truck is parked. I just got 5 gallons of VP C16: over $45.00. The wife and I are driving from Ohio to Dauphin Island, AL later this month. Not having to unload the truck while stopping for the night is a benefit too. The Bakflip is well over $700, without tax, so the Mopar one isn't too out of line. Fortunately I get a pretty good deal on parts: 30% off on parts, 20% off on accessories. List plus tax would have been $1100+.

I get some daylight pics posted later. Obviously I finished up after dark. Even though MythBusters showed bed covers don't help fuel mileage, maybe I'll get a little bump.

VP C16?! We're only on sonoco blue on our camaro and we're at 14.5:1, what kind of Comp is your neon at?!

We get ours by the drum, $350 a drum. Already used one drum from May to August, getting another next week.

Looks good my bak flip was around $750. How hard is it to take off? The bak flips are really easy just flod up and take out two bolts and pull off.

Sorry, C12, I was tired, lol. 10.5:1. It was built for NO2, but I think that will change to 12.5:1 over the winter with forged rods instead. I think it can be competitive in all motor classes. It's running SRT-4 rods with ARB bolts now. The SRT-4 rods are iffy over 8k. I just dyno'd it at 213/167 peaking at 7.5K, with the injectors at over 100%, on e85. I'm going back to the dyno with race gas and 9 PSI more fuel pressure. I'm hoping to hit 220+. With a couple of points of compression, maybe 235?

That's more like it. We ran VP C12 until february, then we changed to sonoco. Plugs are ALOT cleaner. We double-filter the fuel before it goes in the tank (and we have an inline there was well), so it's filtered 3 times before it gets to the carb, and the VP still left crap behind. The sonoco comes out nice and clean.

We might be switching over to alky over winter though. Best pass is in sig, and we've picked up a tenth just in the last month via crank trigger and vacuum pump. Ron's Alky Injection is supposed to be worth another tength. We're on steamrollers (32x16) and we still spin the tires off the line, but it's gotten pretty consistent. Last set of tires were gone after 50 passes due to manuf defect. We've already out that many on this pair, and they're behaving much better. FYI ther car weighs 2950 race-ready with driver.
