Default Rancho shock issue

Ok guys, doing my rear shocks finally, frts were done years ago, have the rancho's that I got from shock warehouse, take shocks out of box, nothing, shocks are suppose to be pressureized, There is no zip tie holding shock together, there is tension when I pull shock apart, but when it collapses, it stays collapsed, no spring back, Thinking these shocks are no good, gonna go to local monroe shop and see if they will check there shocks to see if theirs are better.

Superdak, my Rancho rears did the same thing. Once they are installed, they work just fine. I'm not sure why they do it that way, but I came across the same question.

Thats because they are hydraulic shocks and not nitro shocks. Hydro shocks just use fluid to dampen where as nitro shocks use fluid and are charged with nitrogen to dampen the bumps. Onloy the nitro charged shocks are ziptied down and open on thier own.

Rancho shocks are not pressurized, nor do they need to be. Like said before, they just dampen the movement.
