Default So what does everyone think of the new F150's?

I'm thinking about trading in my 2006 Raider Durocross 4x4 V8 with 40K miles for a 2011 F150 5.0 FX4 w/ leather captain chairs power everything, locking 3.73 gearing, back up camera, and everything else I would want in the supercab (extended cab) configuration.

I love the raider, but I'm thinking I will get the same mileage (window sticker on mine says 15 in town, but I get 12-13) the interior room is the same, but the towing is increased to 9300lbs.

I don't want to start a flame war on Dodge vs Ford vs Chevy vs Import. I would just like to know the opinions from the people on this forum of what they think.

Thanks.

Oh, and I just found out that I still have the remainder of the factory 5year 60K warrany until april 9th (bumper and powertrain).

If I had to choose another brand I think I would look at the Fords... they seem to be stepping up their game!

Ford has done an outstanding job on their lineup. But I'm a Dodge man and I love my Dakota. IMO Ford is probably the best one out there right now. Some of the things they are doing. 300+HP from a V-6?

That's what I really want is the 3.5 twin turbo. But I think the new 5.0 will hopefully be just as big (in the aftermarket dept) as the old one.

BTW, there is already a 6 inch lift for it. It's a damn shame we never got one.

Also there are two superchargers in development, one you can find on youtube and the other I've read is being developed by Roush

To be totally honest I hate the way my truck has been for the past year or so, I've had to make repairs that shouldn't have been, I'm looking into a ford raptor. I love my dads 2010 ford f150 lariat totally awesome ride and truck. I'll be moving up soon. Waiting on a few raptors to come in so I can go test drive them. If I don't like what they offer for me for my truck I'll be posting it for sale.

I had a Ford diesel 4x4 in the early-mid '90s, was a good truck. Ate ball joints like mad, but powertrain wise, it never had an issue. Bought a new '97 F150 4x4 and it dropped a piston with 14,000 miles on it (Triton 5.4 V8). I've got lots of friends with Fords and every one of them has had a major engine issue, from throwing plugs out the hood to 6.0 Powerjokes blowing heads.

The new engine line-up looks impressive as hell ON PAPER, but I think I'd wait a year or two for them to get the bugs out, myself...

Well that's not going to work. I asked for more for my trade (what KBB had as good) and he told me to call KBB and see if they will buy the truck outright. Oh and he told me to buy a GMC or a Chevy!

Stay away from Bill Currie Ford in Tampa, and their internet sales manager Terry A. Wood.

If I was to get the F150, it would just be as it is. If I decided down the road I wanted to lift it, or add a blower, I would know there would be an accessory provider that I can request information from.

If we had that with our trucks (mostly a lift kit) I would more than likely stay with mine.
