Default 2008 Dakota Power Outlet

I have a 2008 Dakota crew cab and the power outlet went dead. Checked the fuse box in the engine compartment, and all was good - changed fuse for outlet anyway to no avail. Looked at all the forums for any ideas but most said there is another fuse under the dash in another fuse box location or behind the box in the engine area. I did not find anything. I followed the wiring from the outlet to a wiring harness under the dash but nothing there either. Any other ideas?

Take it out and put a meter (or at least a test light) on the wires at the outlet, seen the actual outlet die more'n once. At about $5 they are cheap enough to replace...

the one in my 05 is not a normal one. I went to a few auto parts stores and they dont have anything like it (power connector wise)
I broke a tab on mine, so I need to replace it lol.

another attempt to force you to overpay at the dealer. I go nuts with lights and power plugs in my vehicles and even on some of my mods. Easy enough to fab up a way to mount one in plastic and use a $5 generic. As far as the connector goes, cut it and solder the wires, done deal...
