Got the coopers installed today...what a goat rope, all I got to say is avoid sears automotive.

Get there, and get the pricing issues sorted out, and this kid that looked 12 went to go get my truck...nervously I tossed him the key, and he went out, took one look in the window and came back in..."I cant drive a stick."

I ended up actually putting the truck up on the rack cause no one there could drive a stick.

So...get the truck up there, and they lift it up. Take all 4 wheels off, and roll the coopers out of the back.

They take the first tire off, and go to put the cooper on. They cant get the bead to seat, their wussy air system couldn't put enough air out fast enough to get the tire to pop up. So their theory was to take a heat gun to the tire, and put breaker bars on the inside to try and spread the tire.

Long story short on that part, they actually ended up taking all 4 tires and rims down to plaza and had them mount them. The took one at first, and brought it back and took the other 3 when they saw that plaza could do it in under a minute.

The guy in the shop took the first tire out of the back of the truck and tossed it on mine right away...I called the manager over, and told him that the guy needed to balance it yet, and check air pressure. So the guy takes it off while the manager takes the other 3 to get mounted. Balances it, and puts it on the truck without checking air, and just clocks out and leaves with my truck only having one tire on it. 1.5hr into it at this point.
AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!

Manager comes back, and rolls the other three into the shop, the 12 year old balances them and put air in them, installs them on the truck, and comes into the lobby. What does he tell me...the guy that does alignments is out today, so I cant even have it checked.

What does the manager do to placate me? Says oh well I wont charge you the cost to have plaza mount them since we took so long. I was about to slam his head into the table at this point.

I get out of there just to get out of there, 2.5hr at that point.

So on the way home, The truck pulls to the left if you let go of the wheel, and if you hold solid, it will pull to the right under heavy acceleration, and to the left coasting...I need to have it aligned, as I suspected since the front passenger tire was worn much worse than the other 4 before I got these.

Think I'll take it by the locally owned shop, Jay's, he has even had some of Tim Allen's cars in there he does such a good job.

I will say that the shake has come almost completely out of the steering wheel at 65+ mph, where before it shook pretty good any above that.

Pics to come, probably later this week depending on whether or not DICE releases the BF3 Beta tomorrow or not...

I do have to say that the road noise is not all that bad for such an aggressive tread, then again, I cant hear too much unless I put it in neutral and coast.

haha, thats right! Thanks man!

and brono, that sucks bad! I actually went to sears to get some pricing when I was looking. I stood in the showroom for about 10 mins, walking around looking at the tires. Finally one guy comes out, fiddles at the computer for a few minutes, asks if I have been helped yet, no, so he says someone will be with you in a minute...5 more minutes go by...i just walked out. Glad I did not use them. Discount Tire had them installed and balanced in 45 minutes. She rides smooth as silk, no pulling whatsover.

well, I got the truck aligned yesterday, took it to plaza rather than going back to sears.

The passenger tire was WAY out, explains the really wore tire on the passenger side.

For 129.99, I got my tires aligned, road checked, pressures checked, and to be nice, he even checked balance on them for free.

Now the kicker, for the $129 they charge, I get two alignments per year for the entire time that I own the truck, at no additional charge.

The alignment took the shake totally out of the truck, only thing left is the very slight vibration that comes from such lugs on the tires, and the shake at idle from the engine, all that I need to do now, is put the shifter boot on detail the truck, shine the new tires, and take come pics for you all.

I even managed to get out fishing this afternoon, going over the top of the "mountian, I didn't even have to lock 4 wheel, just cruised right on up! That detroit locker and these tires SAHWEET! I am tickled pink, even the 76 wont do that after a hard rain like we had on Monday.

To the guy talking about mud bogging, nope, I wont do that, it might get covered once in a while, but it sits too low and has too much money in it to sink it in mud. I don't have any rocks to climb for a long way but this truck routinely makes it out on the hunting trail, off road to the fishing hole, as a second vehicle when cutting wood, and more often that not, out to check cattle.

If I ever get the dana under it, it will become a general off road truck, all I need is another winch so that I don't have to take one off of the other vehicles, and a mess o free time.
