Default front end noise

My front end has been making a clanking noise for a while. So today I decide to dig into it and find out what is making the noise. I started with the sway bar. I took it off and test drove still had the clanking noise but I needed new end links anyway as you can see in the pics. so I ordered moog end links and they will be here tuesday. next I climbed under the front and started trying to move stuff and the half shafts and move in and out and up and down and make a clanking noise. I'm gonna say that's not good right? Next what are my options on new ones? And what am I in for if I change them myself?
this is the driver's side sway bar end link

check rock auto for your half shafts and as far as changing them goes its gonna be pretty strait forward. take wheel off, remove nut off CV shaft in hub (if it has one, idk) disconnect. sway bar off. brake rotors. suspend caliper, disconnect abs, remove tie rod nut and hit what it goes thru with a hammer. separate upper ball joint. lean knuckle out. push CV axle thru hub and remove from differential plan on losing a little fluid too. thats basically it.

here ya go
