Default LT tires anyone?

What is the difference between LT designated tires and P tires? BF Goodrich has their All-Terrain KO in both.

LT245/70R16 and P245/70/16

LT tires are usually 10 ply tires (load range E) where a P (Passenger) tire can be anywhere from 4, 6, or 8 ply (load range B C D). 245/75 only come in an LT, just remember the more ply's a tire has the heavier it is going to be. How much heavier? I don't know, hope this helps!!

Mine came with the LT BFG's. I don't load the truck down much, but wanted to have the same rating tires. I ended up getting some Falken Wildpeak LT265/75 R16's at Sears after price matching via their website communicator.

So far so good.

Don't go with E rated tires for a Dakota. Unless you like having your teeth rattled out of your skull...

I just threw a set of the bfg lt ats on my truck. 265 75 17 I believe. I wanted the 10 ply because I drive on rocky trails a lot. I would hate to puncture a side wall in the middle of no where! The ride is a bit firmer but the new ranchos offset that somewhat and mpg has dropped a bit. If you aren't planning on going off road much I think the p series is just fine.

yep, stick with P rated unless you offroad a lot. "P" prices are cheaper too.
