Default Where do you buy tires?

I am about to buy a set of Goodrich T/A KO tires. Tirerack sells them for $189 a piece with $85 shipping. onlinetires.com wants $180 plus $58 in shipping but I have never done business with them. Discount tire has the LT type, which I don't want. Anywhere else?

discount tire can get pretty much any tire u want. Also check discounttiredirect.com, they have more tires there. I have done some checking, and between discount tire and tirerack, i am not saving anything. After u figure the install, the balancing, the shipping blah....

I picked up my Coopers a from discounttiredirect.

I know BJ's could probably order the BFG all terrains for you, I looked into it a while back. But I ended up ditching the 16's.

I've heard things about TreadDepot. They will usually price match for you.

I went to Sears and found a old tire price on the computer system for $165 took that quote to NTB and made them price match and give me 10% off for not having the lowest price

I just wore out my 265X70/16 BFG AT TA KOs with an honest 57k on them and they became very noisy after 35k so I was ready for a quiet smooth ride but still from a respectable tire. Well for what its worth I buy local for a good reason as it turned out. I had Michelin LTX M/S2 265X75/16 LTX LT (E) class or 10 ply installed. The tires where smooth and quiet but very bouncy even on the smallest road imperfections. They almost felt unbalanced at times but would smooth out depending on the road. The 75 height allowed my front tires to rub slightly on drive way entries and such and I had no plans to raise the truck for clearance. I brought the truck/tires back with my concerns and to their credit my local shop said no problem lets see what we can do. Well first the truck is rated for a P metric radial certainly not a (E) 10 ply. Thought the BFG AT TA KOs are 8 ply LT and was standard on the 06 TRX-4s but that was the limit for our trucks suspension and weight. We stayed with the same tire the LTX M/S2 P265X70/16 and the truck rides like a dream. My gas millage even went up a full one mpg because of the very low rolling resistance. So going with a good local shop that will work with you may be better then dealing online or by phone and dealing with shipping and such with any potential adjustments to be made with the purchase and install. Just my opinion.

I like buying local as well, but in this case it's worth it even if you don't have problems, just so you can make sure they are new tires and not a threat to your life:
