Just thought of this. Don't know if this was discussed or not. If I recall the black box that sits right in the middle is the "silencer". But what is that little horn that comes through the fender well?

I think the big black box that has 4.7 on it is the silencer.

The horn is just the air intake from the fender. That is where the air is pulled before it heads to the air filter box. It an attempt to pull colder air from the outside rather than the engine bay.

In my case 3.7 lol. I was just wondering really. And that horn in the fender doesn't seem like its doing anything haha. Mine is slightly separated from the air box.

its called an air resonator or air box..it keeps noise levels down and stores excess air inside. the best part about getting an intake is being able to junk that thing. that air horn is separated from the fender a bit on mine and seems very flimsy..i know a couple guys on here have modified that tube to work better than the stock setup

ive always wondered if you could fill the holes into the chambers on the silencer. with plastic or something. make like a stealth but better flowing intake.

Thought so, I got the same rims and they are just falling to pieces and I take care of them! The "beadlock" bolts are rusty looking and some paint is chipping off around the rim. And the lugs and center caps get rusty looking quick, it's like a full time job keeping them clean.

Get yourself a cold air intake. The stock airbox is mutichambered to reduce noise while sacrificing performance
