Getting Rancho's and 2" leveling
I'm getting Rancho's, 2" Daystar leveling kit and 265/75-16 installed later this week. Truck is 06 4x4 4.7 5Spd AWD and has 60k miles. Should i just have the tie rods replaced now or just have them take a look at them, and is there any thing else they should inspect while it is apart and on the rack?
Post pics when you can. I have essentially the exact same truck as you and was looking into getting similar mods. Looking forward to seeing how everything looks. Also are you getting a shop to do it for you, and about how much is everything running you? If you don't mind telling. Just curious what I can expect to be spending.
Might as well have them look at the bushings. I understand the 05-07 models had thinner bushings? -Does anyone know if the 08+ model bushing fit as an upgrade? Haven't heard of many problems with these, just saying, while they are looking.
As far as your tie rods, at 60k, I think most would say, on these trucks, if getting an alignment is already in your future, upgrade your tie rods while you are at it. But, I'm still on the amateur side of things, so I'm not sure if an alignment is in your plans or not. I'm more here for the learning at this point. But: If you are thinking about new tie rods you'll want to check out this thread:

It was $706($150 was Labor). I put the rear shocks on myself. Ride is much improved and well worth it. I did have to take the truck back and have them tighten the top strut bolt. There was a clunk, and when I took it in to show them the source of the noise he said he tightened the nut to 45 ft like Rancho said, so he didn't know what went wrong. After he fixed it(the struts had to come completly back out to get to the nut) he said he called Rancho and asked for advice, they told him he needed to clean the paint off the threads before trying to tighten a nylock nut. duh

$706 was the bill at the 4x4 shop the tires/alignment was another 1k. I could of got the GD Wrangler TD's for $800 but I liked the 'looks' of the Slient Armor tread better.
