No remote start for me, my vehicles are all garaged. It still gets butt-*** cold, but no frost, frozen windows or locks. As far as comfort goes, remote start would be nice but filling my house with toxic fumes isn't an option. I thought about putting in ventilation or flexible tubes I can hook up to the tailpipe but it's not worth the effort.

That's called a garage door opener. They make them....

As for a 30 second warmup, yea right lol when it's below 32 it doesn't even idle down til a minute, besides I wanna have some oil going through the truck before I pull out onto a road that's speed limit is 60

I back my cars in. There's really not enough ventilation to get the exhaust out before it goes in.

I know what you mean as I am in the same situation, living just off the highway (50 mph). But the fact remains that
letting your vehicle idle for long periods of time in the cold is not only bad for the environment, but can cause serious damage to your engine and emission system
.
Max 4-5 minutes in extreme cold, one minute otherwise. When the idle drops down to normal, it's time to move.

The problem then is how to manage without rapid acceleration with a cold engine. I don't have an answer for that one. I am fortunate that my highway is rural with sparse traffic, and wide shoulders to pull over if faster traffic comes up on me before the needle starts to rise.
