Default 2011 and Superchips

I just got a 3865 superchips and tried to tune my 2011 Dakota 4.7L

I kept getting the error message G-3F so I called Superchips. They sent me and update and still I got the same error message. So I called back and they told me that they do not support the 2011.

They said they may in the future, but don't know when. Given that 2011 has come and gone, I am doubtful they will come through.

Has any one else with a 2011 run into this problem? I assumes someone else has had this problem, but maybe there are less 2011's than I thought. My understanding is that the powertrain is unchanged since 2008.

As of right now, I have and expensive paperweight.

they wont take it back? they did not know yours was a 2011? they tried to fix it before saying "oh sorry, it wont work with your truck". Man, I always thought they had the sh!ttiest customer service of any company i have ever dealt with.

I bought it used. I suppose the onus is on me as I assumed that 2011 would be supported since it is the same vehicle as the 2010.

That is the solution for the Ram folks have used. It is not something that I want to do though. Thanks for the thought.

As far as I know SC cannot tune 2011 and up Dodges for some reason. Let this be a warning to other potential Dak owners who don't know.

No it is not VIN locked.

That is what I will probably end up doing. I will hold out until I get a more definitive answer from SC and go from there. I really would like to use the tuner.

Thanks.

As far as my research tells me Chrysler redid the encryption on the PCM's for 2011 across the brands and no one has been able to crack it. I don't know what that means, as it has been over a year with no progress. If you can't crack something within a year, I am not sure that there is much hope

SC, Diablo, etc all say they are close. They said that in March 2011 and there is still nothing.

maybe they should enlist Chris Tarnovsky.....

I think B&G has something....they just can't get in a handheld form yet due to the rolling codes....once the warranty is up on the new vehicles.....I think the codes stop rolling and then 2nd party files will be available.....this is all conjecture of course...
