Default bad shift, 6 speed manual

07 dakota 6 speed with 4x4... when the truck is cold.. shifts fine...smooth as butter... once it warms up... pretty much grinding into gears.... clutch pedal hard to push in.. is it possible the flywheel or clutch disc?

So, cold truck = easy clutch pedal, warm truck = stiff clutch pedal?

My gearbox is much slower on cold mornings, and loosens up when it gets to temp. You seem to be experiencing the opposite, which makes me wonder if the gearbox itself is to blame.

Does the gearbox grind once the pedal gets stiff? The gearbox may be fine, but if the clutch isn't completely disengaged, the synchros will have a hell of a time doing their job. Does it grind in any gear, up or down? 1-2 and 2-3 often 'bounce' a bit anyway, since they have multiple synchros.

Good luck and keep us posted - I'm rather interested in how these Getrag G238's hold up as miles increase.

How many miles are on your truck and do you ride the clutch a lot? I know with some manuals if you ride the clutch a lot the disks can start to over heat and if this happens it makes it hard to go in and out of gears.
