Also try running Premium gas and track the milage .. you might find that you go farther on it and when you figure it out $$ per mile you might save .. I used to in my 99 dakota 5.2L ... enough to get 30 more miles .... doesnt sound like a lot but it would cost me less than $5 more to fill up on premium .. and in that truck you didnt get 30 miles on $5 of gas (this was when gas was over $4/gal most Everywhere)

Premium won't help you go farther, unless you have a problem in the engine where pinging is an issue and its registering on the KR sensor. Knock retard will rob 10hp or so per degree, so if you have pinging thats registering, premium fuel may take it away and restore your ORIGINAL power and give you that better mileage, but not any extra if your engine is operating normal.

On that note, I do get better mileage with premium and the performance tune on Superchips, but only .5-1 mpg more. And that might be to the better shifting and not the fuel.

I think there was one person on here who came close to those numbers, but that was after major weight reductions, putting a spoiler on the front, making his own skid plates to smooth the underside...that is quite impressive if you get that kind of mileage. I have NEVER seen anywhere near 20 except one trip to the beach last summer when I drove like granny just to see how high I could get it, then it was only 19.2.

my best is 19mpg. But traveling the same road back I only got 18mpg. Seems to me it was downhill most the way going west and uphill going east. I'm pretty constant at 16mpg now. 57 miles highway and 3 miles city every day.
