Damn, my tranny is leakin on me again.
I just paid way to much to flush my tranny.
My tranny is slipping again...

I totally agree, while it was never a pet peeve of mine, I have always tried to type trans rather than tranny due to this alterior meaning.

FWIW I've heard Honda boys call a distributor a "dizzy". On a gun forum people rant about calling a shotgun a "shotty". Meh, I don't give a poopie.
