That springfield is only like 349.99 at my local gun shop. Are they that much more expensive up there in Alaska?

I'd get the gun. wheels are easy to plasti-dip.

I would also get the pistol, but in a Glock 22 form. Or you can buy the Glock 21 and buy the 10mm Conversion barrel for it and then BAM you get two guns in one frame. Don't forget to buy the 10mm mags too.

5.25" XDm in .40 cal best I can find it for is just under $600 NIB and I have really good sources. I can get a .40 cal XD with 4" barrel for low $400s but that's about the best I can find new...

Yep, that's about average for non-wholesale or non-LEO purchases. I can buy certain brands at LEO pricing and have a source for FFL pricing thru my local gun club.
A good conventional source is Bud's Guns if you haven't tried them. Really good pricing and customer service, although they aren't that much lower than CheaperThanDirt.com on this particular model...

BTW Moparman, I have a Glock 23 and just purchased the Lone Wolf .357 Sig drop in barrel. Haven't even bought any .357Sig rounds yet...

Quote: Well, you are posting this on a truck forum, so I think you already know what is going to be the predominant opinion. Post this on a firearm forum (and I'm a member of about a half dozen) and you'd see the opposite results.
That's true, but I'm willing to bet we have more gun guys that post in this section than truck modding guys that post on a gun forum. I can see much more one sided results in a gun forum. So far it's around 50-50 here :P

As far as the poll, I would definitely get the gun.

I do like the finish on that wheel though, but it's quite a price to pay for a stock wheel. Any distance more than 15ft away, most people can't tell the difference between it and plastidip. Those would be a PITA to clean once the brake dust starts to build up.

Have you factored in the price of removing the tire, re-mount and balance? Or do you have all that equipment like a lot of far-northerners tend to?

I don't have that equipment but the base auto hobby shop does. I haven't really thought too much about the price for getting the tire removed and then remounted I didn't think it would cost too much. Im kinda starting to lean more towards the gun, because my truck would be on jack stands for a week and a half to 2 weeks while the wheels are getting done
