Default Spark plugs, Tuning, and E-85

I've noticed an issue for a while any time I've had my Superchips tuning with pinging at low rpm/heavier load conditions. The truck will fluctuate back and forth with pinging and no pinging when this happens. Today I decided to do some data logging and get an idea of what was going on and found that under the low rpm/heavier loads the pcm is advancing the timing approx. 20 degrees and it'll ping, and in response the pcm cuts the timing back to about a 5 degree advance instead. It'll repeat this process as long as the condition exists. Keep in mind also that my truck has knock sensors since it's flex fuel capable, and that's where I believe the fluctuation is coming from in response to those inputs. I'm currently running the 87 Tune with 87 gas, but am going to move to 89 and see if this improves it as well. I have noticed it to some degree on all levels of the Superchips tuning though. It's definately not been as bad on the Towing and 91 tunes, running 93 octane gas.

I've read a lot on here about people stepping to a cooler range plug to eliminate pinging. I happen to be due for plugs and was thinking about moving to the autolite 3923's to see if this improves, which many people say it does. I don't see a reason to go to the 3922 in my case or am I wrong?

My question is, how do you think a cooler range plug will effect performance on E-85? I don't usually run it, but I don't want to have issues if I do go back to stock tuning and decide to run it. I don't hear much on here about the flex fuel trucks, especially pre '08 since '07 was the only year for this engine that had it.

i can tell you that ive herd of people melting the e3's and cheaper plugs, and even on here i think blown or mitsu one ofthose guys melted one too (of course they are boosting) but i would say run a ngk laser iridum, bumped my mileage up and smoothed the idle out tramendousley.

So I have been thinking about trying the E3's in my 08 Dak, do you think the NKG's would be a better choice?

I have run the NKG's copper cores for over 5 years, I like them better than the Autolites.
