Default help, must get rid of this stock air delivery tube

hey guys, I was under the hood over the weekend and while revving the engine I realized how bad this stock tube to the air box is..the one popping out from the fender. It isn't even long enough and stops short of the styrofoam padding that holds it in place. When you open the throttle plate is pulls away from the fender because of the vacuum and allows a lot of air to exit before even reaching the filter. I know there was a thread or two in the past on this topic but I wanted to ask again anyways. I know a lot of you have full K&N kits and don't use the stock air box, Thanks.

Oh, oops..haha my question is has anyone fabbed up a different tube? Or atleast have any ideas for one. Such as using an adapter plate from the inside of the air box and connecting a different hose to it and either hooking it up to the location on the fender or maybe somewhere better

The link, he added the same restrictive piping, that was part of the original piping/Intake removal, If you could get a 90" or 45" pipe it would be less restrictive coming from the fender into the airbox, Just my opinion

I don't get what you're saying Reject. Do you mean that the angle of the tubing he used is not good for the air flow? The thing I posted a picture of is some POS plastic pipe that does not hug the fender tight whatsoever. My biggest concern is that I am losing air flow..I can feel it and see it. With Ueland's mod it is a much cleaner design IMO, allows more air flow since it is 4", and gets rid of that stupid hornlike thing that I am assuming is some type of air resonator? I don't know man haha this was probably something I should have posted in the general discussion area but it does bother me and I would like to change it. I will probably just do Ueland's mod..just need to order those parts from Summit and invest in a riveter gun

I think he was suggesting to use hard pipe between the box and fender instead of the flex hose. I agree it would probably flow better.

If your going to go through all that trouble why not just replace it with a homemade CAI?

This is what I meant. Flex pipe has bumps that cause disturbance, well Hard pipe doesnt = Flows better.
