LOL!! I'm afraid to tally it all up.

No not Dodge, but a lot of parts stores want to sell me on the Mevotech stuff. Since I've read too many negative comments (and not just on this forum) I stay away.

I came across a Mazda forum where people were complaining of issues with Mevotech ball joints for their Mazda's so it's not just the Mevotech Dodge stuff. Someone on that particular forum mentioned that Mevotech did a redesign to solve whatever problems they were having with the Mazda parts.

According to that post the ball joints with blue boots were junk and the redesigned ones had black boots and were ok. That could very well be the same with the Mevotech Dodge stuff, but I don't have the desire to find out the hard way. As it is, I bought Mevotech upper control arms before I read of any complaints so I'm already a bit nervous about the reassembly.

At least all the other parts I bought should be solid.

I still can't swallow that it's $500 to replace 6 bushings in the front end, it's just crazy.

Mine both had those garbage blue boots on them, they have already disintegrated. Autopartswarehouse wants to send me a whole new arm and send back the old one. BS I say. I won't tear it apart, pay for a new alignment only to have that garbage fall apart on me again. I spoke to mevotech and they don't deal with endusers. I'm just going to wait til after my swap and get some Moogs, I have since sworn off both autopartswarehouse and mevotech.

To Jeremy,
If you leave the lower bushings where they are, you can actually get the strut bushing. It's the same part as the Ram 1500 apparently. All this came to light in the last week.

If you use that locknut supplied by the dealership, you won't get a good alignment and the lower control arms will slip. Those long nuts with the built-in spacer, along with the cam washer are required to make the front suspension do what it's supposed to and to hold after being torqued.

I plan to use those dealer supplied nuts as jamb nuts - just to provide some extra insurance that the alignment settings won't move.

Unfortunately, I have to say the dealer is the best place. Or you can order from one of those oem parts internet stores.

If you PM DodgeCares with your vin he can get you the part number.

I got mine (nut & bolt) from the deaership. If you download the parts list from the sticky post on manuals, you'll see it there in the Front Suspension section - the part numbers in that parts list are the same as Mopar numbers. Alternatively, you can go to a fastener outlet and get/order one there - just measure the size (it's metric) or take the nut with you when you go to get it.

You can also find it at parts.com

How did this come to light and what's the part number? It isn't listed in the Dakota's part list. Is it the 2011? The Dorman control arms at Rockauto supposedely fit the Dakota, Raider and 2011 Ram.
