Default 06 Dakota A/C not working =(

So I went to run my A/C yesterday, and just to my luck....it was not working. The heat works fine but I am now blowing any cold air... luckily I have a warranty. I have the warranty, so I dont want to invest too much of my time / money figuring out the problem, I did check the fuses and relays and those are all good.

Might be low on freon. You can buy a can and refill tube at walmart for less than $20. Or take it in of you have a warranty.

If there isnt any freon in there, or its low, that should indicate a leak somewhere. So,when i bring it to the dealer, they should check for leaks. I havent even used a regulator to check to see if theres any freon in the system yet, I hope it isnt too serious of a problem. I had to replace an evaporator in a 99 sephia once....what a pain in the ****.

You are correct. You should only be missing freon if there is a leak somewhere. Specially in a new truck (I'm guessing its new because you said you have warranty left)

I bought it used from Herb Chambers Dodge, but it was recertified and has an 88000 mile platinum warranty, that covers the A/C and its components. I can't tell what the hell the issue is though, the fuses/relays are good, the compressor comes on, the condensor is not damaged. The seals have got to be leaking, either that or maybe a plugged evaporator, i dunno but the heating system is top notch! My thing is mainly brakes/suspension/engine repair, I know only a small amount about HVAC, but I do know, if youre low on freon, theres a leak somewhere.

the thing with the ac, even in the winter you need to run it, that way the seals stay good, my 05 still blows really cold air, to the point, it gets too cold sometimes

if the compressor comes on, it is not low, at least on pressure. There is a pressure switch that needs to be satisfied before the compressor clutch will engage.

It's at Dodge now. Dropped it off at 730AM EST. The compressor definitely comes on, cold air just isnt blowing. Maybe the evaporator is clogged...or not working. Not too sure, Im just glad i have the extended warranty. I know very little about HVAC, and if it is the evaporator, I dont want to be the poor bastard taking the dash apart to replace it.

OK, so the condenser is not working apparently. They are going to give me a new condenser its covered under warranty. At least I am not one of the dozens who cut their condenser while doing the 3" body lift on their truck. And I am glad its not the evaporator either!
