The boxes are 3/8" (not metric!) plywood - good-both-sides, with 1x3 pine structure. Some of the bigger boxes have 3/4" LDF bottoms.

I snagged a bunch of the boxes before they went to the bin and built two boxes that sit at the back of my bed. They interlock between the wheel wells so they don't move around, and slide right out when I want them to. I keep my safety harness and site gear, a little tool box, my towing ball-mounts, and my riding gear (dressage) in there. I have a locking tonneau cover that keeps it all secure.

When I need to use the whole bed, I just put the boxes in my garage and away I go.

I'll add some pictures today or tomorrow - there I'll put this in for you!

And now the pics!

You guys know there are notches built into the sides of the box just behind the wheel wells for dropping in a 2x4 or 2x6 into to prevent stuff from sliding forward.

Put one in the wife's Dakota to keep the groceries from sliding forward.

Of course, but I got to build something this way! Took scrap wood, used a table saw, power mitre box, air brad-nailer and a power screwdriver. Had the help of my Father-in-law watching me and saying "are you sure you know what you are doing?" and then "hey, that worked out well!"

Way better than a 2x4 in a slot!

Sorry, the comment wasn't meant to dis your cargo box. Was meant as a heads up to the poster who was trying to secure his groceries with a ratchet strap.

I keep forgetting to cut one. But the bed extender serves a double purpose that's why I'd rather have one of those.
