Flashpaq lack of tunes?
i tow my bass boat with the dak using superchips towing tune.
ive towed with 93,89,87....
using the towing with 87 is ok, maybe a little difference & a little ping sometimes with the ethanol mix crap , but not since i switched the stock thermostat out with the 180 degree t-stat.
you may want to try 87 with the Lucas oil company brand octane booster, i like their products.
havent did a long term "figure the mileage/exact %" with it but ,when i do remember to buy it , it seems to help.
fwiw, i dont think SC recommends towing with the performance or mileage tunes.IIRC, that pops up on the display at some point?

They recommend not towing with the mileage tune or neutered tune as I like to call it. I'm definitely going to give the tow tune another chance and mess with the torque management a bit this weekend.
For the 2008+ guys:
93 tune: Nice all around power boost. Feels a lot like the 91 tune, maybe just a bit better, but with much better low end performance. I can usually get by without pinging on 91 octane (no 93 here).
91 tune: Nice power boost at the middle to high end. The low end however feels sluggish, almost like stock. I can usually get by without pinging on 88 octane (mid-grade is 88 here).
Towing tune: Better all-around over the 87 tune, seems to have the best low-end of all the tunes, maybe slightly less at the high end compared to the 93 tune. I have to use 91 octane with this one.
87 tune: nice all-around boost over stock, much better at the low end than stock. I can usually get by without pinging on 86 octane (regular is 86 here).
Mileage tune: Haven't used it.
The towing tune seems to work the best for me for day to day driving. I should note that I live in the South West at higher elevations, my daily commute is from 5200 - 7200 ft. It's also time to replace the top rows of spark plugs, so I don't know how that will affect the pinging.
