Default ABS and brake light came on...

hey whats goin guys?

After hitting a speed bump, my ABS and brake icon lights came on. The brakes feel fine... After having the truck ignition off the lights go away. its obviously a connection somewhere that gets loose going over a decent bump. has anybody had anything similar?

i had my brake light on, took it to the shop, needed whole rear brakes, master cylinder and all. When the brake light was on there really wasnt much difference in the braking distance. In hind sight, I wish I took in earlier than I did, because I could have maybe caught it before it got so bad

If it just happened when you went over a speed bump, check your ABS Sensors first, make sure they are tight. If those are intact, then as norma stated, you may need a brake job.

IM leaning towards the abs sensor being loose? It makes sense. My brakes are less than a year old. New pads up front along with drilled and slotted rotors. 100K pads are in the rear drum brakes. I was told those we're fine at the time i got everything installed. theres no visual imperfections on the rotors either

Id have to actually look to find it, but I assume theres one on the drivers side near the caliper and then one in the rear near the diff. look up what the abs sensors look like on Rockauto then check around those areas for it. Or look at a chiltons manual or a haynes manual, mines in my truck right now, or id look it up to tell you.

Also while you are at it check the connections for the ABS sensors, and hit them with some electrical contact cleaner, my ABS came on, and it was becasue I had no pushed the connections together good enough.

The Wires in the front could be for the TPMS??.... which also throws the ABS light? or does that just throw the TPMS
