Default power steering problem

I have a 2006 Dakota SLT. All of a sudden the steering got tight. Replaced the power steering pump, had the pressure line tested and found no obstructions, and then replaced the rack & pinion. Somewhat better but still tight. Anyone have any suggestions as to the problem?

Definitely could be the shaft, but if it's tight I would think it's beyond needing grease. Bad balljoints can cause resistance too, but a noise when turning will usually come along with it, not always though. Tie rod ends could do it.. new wheels/tires could give the illusion of being tight, bad alignment, change in caster/camber.. but you probably got aligned after the rack was replaced.
