Dude, that looks Fuhking good. Especially for some spray on plastigrip stuff. My question is how will it hold up to rock chips, and what does it look like up close? Is it even and smooth or are there little ripples.? Does it feel squishy, I happen to think that might be pretty rad.

You have all but convinced me that I am at the very least going to do this to my stock steel wheels. they look great and all at the cost of three cans of black platidip. I am sold.

I drive 40+ miles each way for work, so we will see how it holds up. It is mostly smooth except for some of the bugs i painted in LOL. up close you can see a little of the paint strokes, but if I add a few more cans it would be perfectly white. White apparently takes more coats to cover other colors. My wheels actually came out better than my hood, because its not a long flat surface I assume. I was going to do it on my bumpers and bed rails, but I dont think it will hold up long term to scuffs.

I am thinking about using this to try on a vinyl pattern on the back of the truck.. If I like it, I might order a matching vinyl and if I don't then I take it off.

anyone put this on paint then take it off? does it come clean?

it does come off clean, just make sure it is thick. and peal the tape before it dries. otherwise it will pull up the dip. also cover enough because overspray sux too.

I also did the wheels in black with 2.5 cans, I just sprayed them mounted right on without masking anything. Got a little on the rotors but it didn't interfere with braking. I just rolled back after a few coats and sprayed the other side.
Man, your truck looks fantastic! Love the contrast on the front end. Very unique. Excellent work...I would paint the grill of the scoop black too.

i wiped it down with cleaner, put a flattened box over the rad and newspaper over the headlights and bumper. i taped off like an inch from the hood onto the fender and sprayed away! i pealed off of the black grill slates. if i where to do it over, i would tape the grill slats because they where a pain to get all the way into.

Overall it looks good, but on the highway it seems to really make the bugs stick on the white dip, maybe its just the color that they show more.

Default My plasti-dip

I thought I would throw my plasti-dip pics up I've had it on since last summer and it has lasted great, whithstands rocks bugs and all weather but boy if you don't like it just catch a corner and peel it all off. I give credit to plasti dip for helping the final touch in blacking out my truck. First picture before on grille, second after grille, third grille and headlight accent, fourth emblems on the tailgate

I did my bumpers in bed liner this weekend and that really turned up the contrast more than the grey look.
