On my journey, the manual says it learns driving habits and adjusts the interval accordingly. Since we have had it, it goes off about every 3 months or 3k miles. I think its just another idiot light personally.
I run Amsoil full syn. I change every 15k miles. Have had it analyzed after that interval, came back just fine and said no problem to keep it in that long.
Its really pretty annoying. I try to change the oil every 3000 miles, so the darn thing is always an irritation as it nags me sooner than I want to go. I just reset it every time and then ignore it and change it on my own schedule.
sounds like it's an idiot light. 3,000 miles huh. what does the manual recommend?
The manual on my 2010 says 3k for "extreme" service environments, with 6k for "normal", but no more than 6k total. I currently do about 6k with full synthetic.
