Default Oil Change Interval

What are you guys getting for oil change intervals?

I have 7400 miles on my truck now. The oil change notification came on at 4XXX miles and I thought it was maybe because the truck sat on the lot and it was a year since the oil was changed. Today after a trip towing a trailer is came on again and told me to change the oil at 74XX miles.

Seems like really short intervals to me. Isn't the factory standard interval 8000 miles? Changing the oil on the 4.7 is a terrible job. I can't seem to do it without making a mess so I am not happy about having to change it again so soon.

BTW I don't need to know what oil you think is best, or even when you think I need to change my oil

That's pretty confusing.

No, not confusing. I just want to know when y'alls truck's are telling you to change your oil.

I don't want to hear that I should change it every 3000 miles, or every fourth moon, or what ever other oil dogma someone subscribes to and wants to chastise me for not accepting.

Oil threads have a way of devolving into absurdity, so I'd like this one not to follow suit.

I probably am asking for too much, though.

My truck does not tell me, I tell her! Seriously, mine does not have that. Must be on 08's and up. I run synthetic and I go 6 months or 6000 miles. A little sticker on the windshield tells me when to change it. oh, and I also got an app on my phone that keeps track too.

I reset my trip marker and then change it when it hits 3000 or when I have the money after 3000 :P I run synthetic but don't trust the long intervals since I switched to synthetic at 75,000

I do synthetic, and attempt to make it every 5000 miles. I am probably being overly cautious about it, but thats my choice.

The oil change alert was reset shortly after I purchased the truck at just under 15000 miles. According to the manual, it will go off around 21000 miles or just before.

About every 6 months. Not a high mileage driver.

Mobil 1 since the first change, just turned 70,000 a few months shy of 7 years old, and it still sounds like the day it came off the line. My first vehicle that I could detect no noticeable wear this far out. I'm truly impressed.

I do mine every 5000km (3000 miles)
My work has 3, 2011 Caravans and in the manual for them it says to change it when it says to, as it accounts for City or Highway driving. My Dept has 2 of the 3, I drove one over 2000km in a month 90% Highway (I drove it from 106km to 2110km lol) and its light has not come on, and the one that has less KM but of city driving has come on. (Both are over 4,000km) :/ Its synthetic, but I would still do it every so many.

I just switched to synth and intend to bump up my interval from 5K kms to 8 or 9. My shop lets me bring my own oil (Mobil 1 so far) so I don't have to pay $90 at Oil Changers and wonder what the heck they put in. Pretty sure it isn't top quality oil, but I don't like to wonder.
