Default u joints

Are u joints going out pretty common on 06 Dakotas?
My truck sounds like it has a bird chirping/flying away from stop lights & I get a little vibe. Any thoughts?

Exactly what mine did when the rear u-joint went out at @65k. Good luck with the 4 little bolts holding the flange to the rear pinion. Chrysler used non-service removable locktite and they are a PIA to get out!, other than that it's a pretty straight forward job.

Gaaa!!! dont go to the dealer man!! You can go to advance or autozone and get one for half of what the dealer will charge and there is not enough room to get a socket on the bolt heads. They are 10mm I believe and you can only get to them with a box wrench.

A torch is your friend for this fix. Get those bolts red hot and they come out much easier.

Thanks for the help guys, got them done last night. Not a bad job at all, I was able to get a socket on the bolts & hit them with my impact.
