Instrument cluster back light
Does anyone know if that horrible green light can be changed to just a whiter light. It is a 2005 Dodge dakota. i was told by the dealership that they were LED's and could not be changed. anyone have any informations
Its true, there are no actual bulbs that you can replace. Only way to do it is to work something custom in to the circuit board. Theres a thread around here from not to long ago that shows getting the actual cluster out and pictures of it taken apart. A lot of people want to get rid of that green light.
they arent LEDs, the light sourse is like what those indaglow watches have... i forget the tech term for it, its something like electro luminastic lighting or somethin along those lines.... im sure someone knows and its NOT changable.... wish it was too!
