Default 5 years Powertrain Warranty in Canada

Hi all , this is my first post on here so Please take it easy on me lol..,
I am sorry if that had been asked already I did a bit of research but I just need an assurance, I just droped my truck (09 Dakota SXT 4x4 V8) at the dealer as I started to get this humming noise coming from what it seam is the rear end...,
I think it may be locking up breaks or perhaps the diffrential low oil level...
I am not a mechanic so its all a guessing game to me...,
What I would like to ask you guys is the details or perhaps a link to details of powertrain warranty , I know it includes the motor and the transmission , that must also include the diffrential ... am I right,
what else ? what other parts does the warranty include ? bearings ? axles ? ....,
Any help would be greatly appreciated. in the mean time I will continue to research over the internet...

thanks,

Drew.

I am not sure about Canada, but I can't imagine its much different. These are the warranty papers I have on my 2007.

I hope that helps.

thank you for the info,

However my Powertrain warranty is only good for 5 years or 100000 kms
would that include all the parts as in the lifetime warranty?
and from what I read all wheel assembly does that include the bearings ?
Sorry for the newbie questions but you know dealer=stealer at least here in CA they may charge me for something else to compensate for the free warrantied work...

lol , I just got the call from the dealer, it is the rear differential, they said it needs to be rebuilt..... WTF the truck has only 70000km's and the diff is gone ???? is this a common problem, the truck came with no towing package , it means it never towed a thing...., I got a hitch put in to tow a small tent trailer weight about 1400 lbs... the truck is capable of towing 7000 lbs why would the rear end go bad so early.

the best news regarding this is it will be fully covered by the warranty,
otherwise they said it would cost me in range of $5000......

Is this a common problem with Dakota trucks ??
anyone,

thanks for the input.

Glad you have it figured out. What did they say was wrong with it? Does yours have the anti-spin diff in it? I am going to say on the 3rd Gens its an uncommon issue...

Well they only said that it has to be taken off completely and re-built
they said my truck will be fixed by Friday....
I will update once I talk to the mechanic that will do the repairs.....
It just makes me wonder if that truck is a lemon... I owned the truck since 47000 kms, the truck is now at 72000 km I never towed anything havier that 1400 lbs about 10 times lol, I drive the thing like an old fard , never span the wheels or anything of that kind... and now you say that rear diff problem is uncommon.
I like the truck a lot yeah its a bit expensive on fuel but the size and power is just perfect, and yeah it is my first truck after bunch of SUV's
so I do enjoy it a lot, I just hope it lasts, or maybe I should just sell it ortrade it in for Tacoma....

Be glad you had the warranty. If you like the truck enjoy it. once and a while parts just shi...t the bed. No reason to flip and sell a decent vehicle. I like how cheap it is to fix stuff or upgrade these trucks. My daily driver is a 2010 vw golf tdi, now that car for as pimp as it is costs a small fortune if something mechanical goes wrong.

The trucks are generally junk! they fall apart once the warranty has expired. I can only say sell it before the warranty is done. These trucks are money pitts, struts, ball joints, shocks, differentials, head gaskets, steering linkage, etc all should last 100K. I never had a previous vehicle that did not.
