Default having trouble with stalling...

I have an 08 dakota laramie with the 4.7 engine. I replaced the plugs with bosch plugs and im at around 48000 miles. Every since the change the truck has been stalling randomly while driving. It shutters a little bit then hovers around 500 rpm and cuts out. The power steering and brakes go out, when i pull over and turn the key back and then on, it starts right up. I have a K&N intake on the truck and that is the only mod. Need help here...anyone experience this? thanks

Well, Bosch plugs may be part of the reason. Bosch plugs have never really gone well with Chrysler products, they are more designed for European cars. Best will be Champion, NGK, Denso, maybe Autolite (and not necessarily in that order). Champions used to be the best for Chrysler engines, and are still a good choice, but NGKs have become my preference most of the time. Only reason I bought Champions for my first plug change (only at 19000 miles right now) coming up is because they were about half the price of the NGKs (bought iridium plugs).

Have you had the engine checked for trouble codes?

Swap plugs with NGK, Champion or Autolite and you will have no issues..NGK 4644 is what I use and they have worked flawlessly for me. Nice smooth running 4.7 for me

Stock NGKs here (3.7L, essentially the same engine minus two cylinders). Not a problem at all.

The 2008+ 4.7L V8 and the 3.7L V6 are much more different when compared to the 2002-2006 4.7L V8.

That being said, they are not designed for our engines. You may not have any issues ever, however, the occurrence of issues with the Bosch plugs and Chrysler engines are much higher than NGK or Champions.

If the plugs turn out to not be the issue... It could be something as simple as a loose connection on the cam position sensor. Hopefully you're able to figure it out. good luck
