I'm in the process of figuring out if an XRC jeep tj bumper will work. I do know you will have to fab 2 mounts (on one side of mount the jeep fit and the other the dakota fit). Everything else measurement wise looks good. It's 2" shorter than the stock dakota's, the same hieght, and it has a little bit of a wrap around at the ends like the stock one. The bumpers exact width is 65.9" and ours is roughly 67". So far so good. The real issue is the front bumper. Doesn't quite match up as well. Hope this helps.

Im not sure if anyone Manufactures Custom Rear Bumpers, Id think any from 05+ Dakotas should Bolt-up with no Modifications (Same mounts and Box im pretty sure.)

my 2-cents.. depends what you are going to be wantin the bumper for. Being that there isn't much for the dakotas, I would tell you to start just painting it and adding lights and see what would need to be done for D-rings;

It just isn't worth it to build a custom REAR bumper, front makes sense, but the back, unless it is purpose driven; why bother?

but hey if you have money to throw at it, then I would def start with bumpers made for ZJ or XJ jeeps, I am not sure on the width, otherwise check out the 2005-2010 WK rear bumpers, probably closer to what the dakota is.

if you do find something, make sure you share it, knowledge is power here.

Are you looking for a roll pan or something more rugged than stock?

There was an old thread started back in 2010 by another person on here with custom front and rear bumpers. I believe he made them himself. I will try and locate that today. I want something like that for the rear. I am keeping the front as is. I had the front covered in Line X.

my idea. be sure the bumper is lighter weight than the frame. cause if you get hit from behind, a strong bumper will bend the frame

Not true. I have an extremely strong front bumper. I've hit a few speed bumps, (cars) without damage nor tweaking of my frame.
