I haven't taken pictures of the relays yet because I'm embarrassed by the jungle of wires , I will take some more today.

Wonder if running synthetic oil would make a difference too... I've just been running conventional and changing every 3k. Anyone see a temp difference with synthetic?

Synthetic would have a marginal difference at best. If I were you I'd be slapping on a pusher fan or something because that's scary.

My truck holds 220 with my aftermarket radiator, flexalite 160 w/controller, Jet 180, GMB, and wetter water with the AC on in traffic.I do get scared some times and kill the AC and it drops back to 195 and will hold there all day. I am thinking of secondary AC condensor fans as well. BTW I have a temp gauge tapped into the coolant spout.

The hottest my truck gets sitting in traffic with ac is 192 (According to Torque which I question it's accuracy). Gauge never even comes CLOSE to half way and the fan never seems to kick on due to temp, it's always cycling because of the a/c going on and off.

I've never seen mine get up that far. In the thread JoeyDMG linked that was with my AC running full blast. Does the HHR fan move less air than the stock clutch fan?

The HHR fan doesn't come close to the stock clutch fan air movement. I think the only fan that will move the same amount is the Taurus fan or the Mark VIII fan. Reports are those fans on high speed can move between 4500 and up to 4800CFM. HHR fan is lucky if it moves 3000CFM.

Thanks, that explains it then. I know I've gone hunting for the stock fan CFM before but never got a solid figure on it. Toyed with the idea of switching to electric fans a few times but ever since Hammer's post warning about the valve seats on the 4.7's I figure I'll just stick to the clutch fan. Kind of glad I went for some of the appearance mods I had planned first before doing any serious performance work, I'm not sure I trust the engine enough to put much money into that now.
