Tire size
Welcome to the forum. The 240 is the tire width in mm. So, your asking if a narrower tire with the same aspect ratio (as in 240/70-16) will fit, the answer is yes, but for the life of me I can't find a 240/70-16 tire and don't know why you would want a smaller tire....

I appologize to all of you for the confusion on my first post, I have a one year old set of snow tires I ran on my last truck (1999 Ranger XLT) that are P245-75-R-16. My 2011 Dakota currently has all season radials P245-70-R-16's.
I understand there is a 5% height difference and the spedometer and odometer will slightly be inaccurate.
The question I need answered is will these 75's fit my dakota without messing up any on board sensors/computers etc.? Secondly, is anyone aware if these generic (snow tire) steel rims will fit the Dakota's hub & 5 bolt pattern?
Thank you for your patience
