Default Luckin fug nuts

I want to do some horrible thing to the ppl who thought of those stupid plastic covers on our lug nuts...

I was trying to take my front wheels off to check for play in the hub or brake drag. And the stupid things just spun.

Does anyone know A: how i can get the ones that are spinngin off? B: what would be a good replacment for them?

put the socket on them and they come off..I hate those things. I got mine from some company someone on here posted I think. Mine are deep lug nuts with a black finish. I like them just can't remember the brand!

Is the stud spinning? or just the cover? Its a tin cap over the actual lug. You can take a chisel and peel it off its super thin.

If its the stud spinning, you are only really stuck with drilling out the stud and try to snap the lug nut off.

Buy Gorilla nuts. They are solid.

just the caps spinning.... not to mention the size of socket is not realistic on them...

I love my Dakota... I just despise dumb engineers.

ok, get a chisel and and hammer, or a screw driver and start breaking the tin cap off the nut.

I had to do the same thing. On top of that, the same engineers who thought this was a good idea did that for the lug nuts on the charger....oh great I'm f*cked!

I have gotten them off clean before, but I guess after a couple of time they just stopped cooperating. I was using a 15/16 socket, is that even the right size?

I will be attacking my truck with a screwdriver after work.

I currently have 5 lug nuts without caps on them because of this same thing. I haven't gotten around to replacing them, but to me it's easier to find a socket that will fit the nut underneath the cap.

I picked up a set of Gorilla lugs from Brandsport.com. These are solid lugs, my OEMs were swollen and it was tough getting a wrench on them.

They are part # 91198HT, but you can find them cheaper elsewhere now, I've seen them at $1.26.

This has never happened to me.

We all know the difference between a 6 sided socket and a 12 sided socket, and why we should only be using a 6 sider on lug nuts, right?
