Help! Rain in Passenger Floorboard
I just bought this perfect condition (ha!) 05 Dakota. We're in Florida's rainy season and having daily deluges. The floorboard on the passenger side is sopping wet. I dont think it's AC related because it's only just begun with the heavy rains. I removed the side panel and pulled the carpet back and found a few rusted cracks in what looks like a thick painted-on coating on the floor. If I press on the area some water seeps up. Also there's a plastic panel along the upper part of the floorboard and water is seeping out from behind it (picture attached). Could the windshield (or something else) be leaking and dripping down behind the plastic or could the water be coming up through the crack in the floor from my tires as I'm driving (seems unlikely)...and wetting the rubber behind the plastic?
Any ideas on how to fix this are greatly appreciated.

A few threads have been made on this topic. There seem to be a couple of ways that water can sip into our cabs, but all seem to have solutions.
I myself have this problem after heavy raining. I am hoping a visit to safelight will take care of it.
