my 05 v8 and my moms 07 v6 do alot of sitting and spinning when its wet out. Ever since i changed the rear diff fluid to royal purple i break it loose alot easier now...kinda weird how that works lol
I think the torque management is far more aggressive in 08+ trucks, because of the drive by wire system. The computer can do more than pull fuel/timing with this, it can pull air flow.
My 08 won't spin unless you force it to, by power braking. The computer pulls a lot of power but gives up after a few seconds then it leaves a nice 100' mark. In the rain no problem, but i still wish you could turn off the traction control.
Mine will break them loose, bog down, then you can feel it surge & let off as the tach climbs. I was annoyed with this for a long time after being spoiled with the 98, but I've become accustomed to it. And I spend far less on gas this way. Nice to have the power if i need it, but I'm not as tempted to play with it.
Oh yeah- my old 01 had 4:56 gears and a 2400 converter, you couldn't floor it in 1st gear without making a scene. Ah the good old days of single digit gas mileage.
