Default Help!!!!! Truck will not start.

I went to fire up the truck today and it will not start. The battery is not dead. all interior lights and headlights will come on and my CB Radio will ecen power on. The only thing that will not turn on is my radio. When I turn the key it starts to crank and then it is like the computer kills it and it wont make a sound. Also in the upper right hand corrner of the instrument cluster a small round red light flashes the users guide defines this light as "Vehical Security Indicator". does anyone have any insight or solutions to this problem? The truck is a 2010 model year bighorn edition.

I had that, check the connection at the battery terminals, mine was loose and then I tightened it, and there I go

Yes actual battery post. Also the only way to know for sure that it is not your battery is to check your voltage with a volt meter and at multipull places. Best to check at battery and fuse block there chould not be much of a drop less than a volt. If so it is wiring. And you should have about 12.75v 12v is actualy to low for most modern systems.

A basic volt meter is a must have in any tool kit.

Checking a battery with a voltmeter alone won't tell you how it will react under load. The cheap battery testers are somewhat better since they have a dummy load, but you can get the battery checked for free at some parts suppliers - these places often test other components such as alternator & starter for free as well.

Battery testers with a load test are the best I was able to dianose 3 or 4 bad
Battery's using one. Works very well. You may have voltage enough but under load there may not be enough juice to start it.
