Thinking about replacing my stock 4.7 cams with HO cams how hard is this and what parts do I need

it's a simple swap, about an 8 to 10 hr job, there is a write up in the sticky with pictures, if your not the mechanically incline, have someone do it, might cost around 1000.00 for the job

It's not really that bad I did it in July you will need another person to help out on a few things but most of it can be done by yourself. As for tools just the basic stuff plus the cam wedge tools and a foot pounds torque wrench. If you do the swap you will love it

the hard part may be finding the cams if you dont already have them.
air ram still shows them "backorder-do not order,will not ship"

Thanks for the feed back guys I think I found a guy here in hawaii that has a used set of cams from a totaled 4.7 HO not sure of the year motor yet but I dont think it should matter that much will post to let you guys know whats going on

You need to look up Blown287 if you are on the same island. I am not sure which island you are on, but I think he's on Kauai. He knows a ton about the 4.7. He had a nice Dak that he ended up selling because he was relocating for his new orders/stationing.

If it comes down to it you might be able to get them from a dealer but like everything else they'll be pricey
