Have you tried disconnecting the battery and letting things reset? I've found these trucks are ridiculous and just do stupid crap. I had a cyl 6 misfire, diagnosed everything I could to no avail. Reset the system and it would go away and come back, I finally reprogrammed the computer with my superchips programmer and the problem went away.

I tried a battery reset, had it charging while it sat disconnected for about a half hour. Also removed the ground at the PCM. Reconnected the battery, went in with the scan tool and performed ECU reset, throttle body calibration, transmission and engine adaptation reset. Im using the Launch x-471 Diagun if anyone knows any tricks by any chance. I started it and took it around locally, the truck definitely ran better, although it wouldn't rev past 3k, and I eventually got the blinking cel for crankshaft sensor A intermittent signal . Wiggling the harness does nothing to improve nor change the frequency in stalling. I ordered another crank sensor from Dodge. If this doesn't fix it...

So if it doesn't fix it PCM..or flex plate?!!

Banana or potato in tail pipe? Sounds like a problem for a can of gas dumped on the roof and some matches. Call the insurance company and go "Dunno what happened, bitch just caught fire"

I believe the 2008+ 4.7L V8s are like the HEMIs, and have a type of IAC built into the throttle body. Only way to replace it is to buy an entire new throttle body. Not sure if that is your problem though.

I would search the forums and internet for HEMI engines with the same problem(s). The 2008-2011 4.7L V8s have a lot in common with the HEMI engines, and there were a lot more HEMIs built, so there may be a better chance of finding HEMI people who've run into this issue and found a solution. I wouldn't normally recommend this, but sounds like you have a stubborn problem here.

My Dad had an older Dakota that used to do a thing like yours is doing and it turned out to be was a wire in the harness going to the pcm had pulled out of the connector piece most of the way but still made poor contact until the vehicle was running and the vibration would wiggle the wire at the connector and cause the motor to shut off after driving for awhile. I would also look anywhere there is a place for the wiring to become kinked or folded after all you have replaced I think your problems is a faulty wire some place and its hard to find because there so much of the stuff. Not sure but there must be a tester that could help. Any electricians here that could offer advice???? I hope you find the problem this must be very frustrating.

so it seems like my brother has it running normal... for now at least. He replaced the camshaft sensor for the third time and it worked. He already replaced it so not sure what the problem is here? Maybe faulty sensor? Who knows but glad its running again for the time being. Thanks for the help on here guys

For some sensors, camshaft sensor and on the older Dakotas, the TPS, for examples, you should always go to Chrysler for. It is a few more dollars, but the aftermarket ones always seem to be very hit-or-miss. Glad you found one that worked.

So the second crank sensor worked. An older mechanic across the street recommended watching the reference signal voltage throughout the stall and sure enough it was all over the place to begin with. Right away it would shoot to about 6v and then bounce between 5 and 12. He said it was an old chrysler bulletin from the early 90s, one model had a huge problem with that. So Im guessing the sensor was shorting internally somewhere. To be safe, I performed another battery reset, along with throttle body adaptation and engine adaptation reset. He's supposed to come get it today, but well see. I really appreciate everyones help on the forum, hopefully this will help out someone somewhere down the line as well. If anyone has any questions on euro cars, feel free to PM me. Thanks again

John

try investigating the wiring harness for shorts and get a look at the computer or have the dealership look at it. mine was acting real weird and wouldnt idle. ended up finding shorts in the engine wiring harness and some burnt up damaged components in the pcm. they replaced both under warranty thank god. but i havent had any weird stuff happen since they replaced all that. just my 2c

they were only able to get the engine to act up by moving the harness around fyi
