Default rear break changes?

OK, So i went to auto zone last night to look up some prices for rear break parts for my Dakota. they asked me if my truck was made before10/17/05 or 06. (it says 05 online, and was askin me 06 in the store)

Was there a break design change in 05 or 06. I can understand if it was 05, especially if it is when the 3 gens first came out, but not in 06? the ones for pre 10/05-06 are quite a bit more expensive.

Thanks for your help.

Yep, thet made a design change mid year. I never had to do rears on mine, good thing because the shoes were d@mn expensive! I just put all new brakes on the Ram for what it would have cost to do rears alone on the Dak.
