Our 2008 started doing that. IT was the multifunction switch. I got a replacment from NAPA, around $70 CDN?
The steering wheel does need to come off. Its easy though, just undo the nut(but leave it on a few threads) then yank on the wheel. Leaving the the nut on a bit keeps the wheel from smacking you in the chest when it pops loose.
There are 2 yellow caged fuses in the the underhood fuse box that should be pulled to disable the airbag.
