Posessed blinkers
So last night on my way home from work, I'm sitting at a light waiting to turn left with my left turn signal on, when after about 20 seconds the blinker turns off then immediately the right blinker comes on and remains on. My turn signal arm is still in the left position! I move the turn signal arm up and down a few times before it operates like it should. Today on the way into work it operating like it should. Any ideas?
Thanks,
H

I can see the arm (multifunction switch?) and maybe a relay causing something like this?
A fuse? I can't see a fuse causing an issue like this but, it wouldn't hurt to pull each one and give them a look.

I dont think a fuse would cause it, the Multifunction switch (Which is the Arm) are know to cause that issue when they are failing. The Signals dont use Relays. If you have the tow package (You might still have them if you dont), you will hear relays clicking in the fuse box, One for each side. Those are for the TRAILER harness ONLY Im pretty sure they are marked LT and RT on the cover)
OMG! The same thing happened to me about a week ago!
Thought I'd have to put a multi-function switch in - did 4 on my neon!
Left it over night and it has been fine since! I think that it is the multifunction switch and once winter is over and things heat up again, it will repeat the problem and I'll have to swap it out.

I had similar issues in my 2010 a couple months back. They seemed to get worse when it rained for some reason. Took it in under warranty and they replaced the multifunction switch and it has been fine since.

Replacement in my neon wasn't a big deal, drop the top and bottom steering column covers, un-bolt and disconnect the switch, take the other side off (wipers on the neon) and reverse - had it to under 20 minutes by the end, and that was with fixing the connector because the neons overheated and fried the plastic.
From the service manual, it looks like the steering wheel has to come off, so the airbag has to be de-fused and disconnected, but I might try do do it without first (I will pull the fuse, incase I cross some wires though). I don't think it is a bad job.
Our 2008 started doing that. IT was the multifunction switch. I got a replacment from NAPA, around $70 CDN?
The steering wheel does need to come off. Its easy though, just undo the nut(but leave it on a few threads) then yank on the wheel. Leaving the the nut on a bit keeps the wheel from smacking you in the chest when it pops loose.
There are 2 yellow caged fuses in the the underhood fuse box that should be pulled to disable the airbag.
