GASCAP mystery
So, I believe I have the mysterious GASCAP in the odometer. I know the gas cap is fully on. I have even taken it off and then back on then spun it around a few times. Maybe something in the filler neck? Any help?
There's a gasket on there? It would make sense seeing as it's 7 years old now.
"This part service brought to you by the Engineers @Chrysler and Penny pinchers @ Diamler"
but ya, Gas cap it probrably is, I replaced mine too on my '07
Cheaps parts may be the issue, but I blame more of the fuel and all the additives we use today than anything. The new stuff is hard on rubbers.
But I agree change your gas cap

Well, I got a new gas cap. It hasn't fixed the light yet. I need to replace one of my O2 sensors today then I'll reset the codes. The guy at Advanced Autoparts wouldn't clear them for me last night. Even after I bought the parts.
That pisses me off that these stores have that no clearing codes policy. I had to tip the clerk $5 to do it last time.

I understand the policy though. Many idiots would just keep coming back and get codes cleared, and then when their cars blew up, sue Advance Auto (or whatever auto parts store) for letting them clear the codes. "They shouldn't have let me do it! I want them to pay for a new car!"
Its sad, but because of a minority, everyone has to suffer. Seems to be the common theme anymore in this country.
Good news!
As far as that policy goes, before I bought the tuner or my scanner, the one clerk told me he couldn't clear a code, however, if I took the scanner in my hands he wouldnt, nor couldnt stop me... after he creepily winked at me...lol
