On this 2007 Dakota the switches connect to the CB by the pins passing thru holes in the CB but they are not soldered. So to make this a tighter connection I inserted a pin in the same hole and trimmed it off. Now it works fine. I suppose you could also solder it but then taking the switch apart again would be more difficult.
Which CB are you talking about? Why I ask is my Passenger side has these symptoms that you are talking about minus the burning and smoke (hopefully I dont get that far). Going down its quick and normal. Going up its sloooooooow and it struggles. I have had the damn thing apart and havent figured out the issue. Ive lubed the rails and everything. Sometimes doesnt work up or down than magically it works again with the same issues.

I have the same issue just on my driver side. It goes down just fine but takes forever to go up. Then some days it won't go up at all. The it goes up great. Then it won't come down.
I've the switch panel up and all the connections seem good.
I'll subscribe and hope y'all find a solution.

You could have a totally different cause, like the window motor. The CB I was referring to is part of the switch assembly... you have to take the whole thing apart to see it. This site has the switch... http://www.switchdoctor.net/dodge-da...Fc6j4Aod6zIAYA
