come on people, those numbers are pretty crappy even tho the winter blend is here, my 05 with 135000 miles on it still gets 17/18 around town and 20 on the highway with the cruise set at 65 I really adjusted my driving habits when gas was 4.00 a gallon and have stuck to it.

I still want to know how people manage to get over 14 MPGs. That is the highest I've seen in my 3 years owning this truck. My average is like 13.2. I don't gun it most of the time and I drive 70/30 highway/city.

I used to get 14 in my old 2001 Ram 5.9L V8 1500. What type of tires do you run? Stock size or larger? Your A/T tires don't help much, thats about 1 MPG or so off what highway treads would do. What speed do you drive on the highway?

55-60, I can get over 20 MPG depending on wind direction/speed. 65-70, I get 18-20 MPG. 75-80 I get 16-18 MPG.

When was the last time you checked your alignment?

I currently have 23k on the clock of my truck, so it still has the factory highway treaded tires. When I put A/Ts on it (maybe even a little larger than stock), I am sure I will lose 1 MPG.

To be honest, I get better mileage when I drive like I have somewhere to be. I used to drive conservatively and that only got me somewhere between 13-14 MPG. The best I ever did was 16.9 (90% highway).

Just before Christmas I put on tires with a more aggressive tread. The MPG dropped from about 9.9 to 9.6. I assume the tires are part of the drop. Plus it being colder this time of year, I let the truck warm up longer before driving. I know that has to have an effect.

ya i guess im in the average. Im at 15.5 now, i say 70% city. When i first got the truck it was 12.7ish mpg so bad. then i cleaned her up, did a tune up and got around 16.7 to lower 17's. With the lift, tires, and exhaust im sitting at what i said before..15.5 at least its what that factory console thing says
